Easy Living Home Elevators Increases Sales With NetSuite

As one of Australia's most trusted providers of home elevators, Easy Living has grown into a complex operation over the past 22 years, comprising six separate businesses, four offices and over 100 staff members. Easy Living's finance team had to manually input data from each business entity in each state, making monthly reporting time consuming and prone to error.

Easy Living chose NetSuite’s cloud ERP because it wanted instant access to reports, an automated inventory management system and it wanted to free up time for value-added tasks, relieving the pressure on its finance team.

The business went live with NetSuite in April 2020. Having followed established ERP implementation best practices, CEO and founder Robert Pizzie is now able to look back and identify some of the key reasons the ERP implementation plan went so well.

“Definitely put the time into producing a specification document, which makes sure that it sets the goals of what you want to achieve in the system,” he said.  “We found that really, really important and so glad we took the time to produce that.”

The business is already seeing tangible benefits, with month-end reporting taking just six days—down from two weeks—freeing up more time for the CFO and finance team to focus on innovation and expansion.

"With NetSuite, it's just been seamless," Pizzie said. “The fact that we are now in a position where we can grow and scale the business is amazing.”

SOKO Creates Global Marketplace With NetSuite

When Gwen Floyd, Ella Peinovich, and Catherine Mahugu launched SOKO in 2012, their goal was to transform the modern fashion industry into one where the default shopping choice is always an ethical one.

The company initially began as a jewelry distributor, connecting local artisans in Nairobi to global retailers. With that in mind, Floyd and her SOKO co-founders decided to create a mobile marketplace that provided the infrastructure local artisans need, effectively becoming a demand-responsive virtual factory that increases artisan income by five times. It also allows SOKO to fulfill orders in mass quantities for large retailers like Anthropologie and Nordstrom.

SOKO then began expanding its supply chain technology to other brands, effectively becoming a Manufacturing as a Service (MaaS) company. Before it launched NetSuite, Mirelle’s team was using QuickBooks accounting software that didn’t connect easily with the supply chain, a wholesale platform to book orders, a CRM system to manage hundreds of accounts, while a simple spreadsheet was being used to keep track of tradeshow costs. “We had to do a lot of manual data cleanup and reformatting across our systems,” Guy said. “And that’s not even counting double-checking for errors.”

Guy and her team wanted to be able to do more with their operations data, like building out projections, accessing customer history and finding ways to align expenses with performance reporting. Customization was a top consideration given the unique business model. Accessibility was a high priority as well, with the team distributed in Nairobi, San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago.

As a result of selecting and implementing NetSuite, the SOKO team is now able to perform sales forecasting with real-time visibility, improving cash flow projections. Past sales forecasts help make the sales team more accurate in future forecasting. They’re able to look at conversion rates from leads to customers, segment wholesale customers by category and territory, and slice and dice reporting on a number of attributes like sales channels, SKUs and territories. Expense reporting for trade shows, customer payment schedules and credit terms are all in one place.

“Information is easily available much more quickly,” Guy said. The increase in time savings related to NetSuite has allowed the SOKO team to better allocate headcount and be a bit more aggressive. “We’re more lean because we’re not allocating resources towards operational maintenance,” she added. Going forward, Guy and her team are confident that NetSuite can meet their operational needs no matter what direction the business goes.

Corkcicle Uncorks Business Success With Oracle's NetSuite

Founded in 2010 and based in Orlando, Florida, Corkcicle first found success developing an in-bottle wine chiller that avoided the mess of an ice bucket. Continuing to innovate and pushing the boundaries of design helped Corkcicle expand into barware and eventually the hydration space. It now boasts sales across 4,000 retail partner locations in North America, including Williams-Sonoma, Macy’s, Target, Nordstrom, and Crate and Barrel.

Implementing NetSuite’s cloud-based system in 2014 enabled outsourced partners to easily continue their functions, while analytics and reporting deliver data-driven decision-making. Meanwhile, multi-location inventory management provides visibility across 3PL partner sites in Atlanta, Salt Lake City and the Netherlands for distribution across nearly 40 countries.

Recently, thanks in-part to the data-driven decisions NetSuite helps to facilitate, the company has expanded its custom-work line of business, selling beverage chilling products with corporate customer logos to HGTV, distilleries and wineries. The automated purchase order workflow is able to provide speed and accuracy in order production from four contract manufacturing partners.

“Before we were making decisions on hunches. With NetSuite, we can really see and analyze our business drivers and make informed decisions.” — David Jarrell, Head of IT, Corkcicle

Blue Microphones Integrates Marketing And Engineering With NetSuite

Founded in 1995 by an American jazz musician and a Latvian recording engineer, Blue Microphones of Westlake, CA underwent rapid growth when sales of its Snowball USB mic, built for use with Apple’s GarageBand, took off. With 30 to 35 percent annual growth, the company quickly outgrew its existing QuickBooks accounting system which couldn’t address the need for multi-currency transactions as well as integration with marketing and engineering systems.

Opportunities and Challenges:
As part of a sale to a private equity firm, Blue Microphones recognized the need to modernize its IT environment. It needed a modern, cloud-based system that could handle multi-currency transactions, inventory management and not only scale with its growth but adapt to changing business conditions.

Real-time visibility and cost savings:
Blue Microphones is saving two full-time employees by converting to NetSuite, an annual savings of $80,000; while its 3PL partners in Amsterdam and Hong Kong now have access to NetSuite through a portal to fulfill orders, which has helped improve accuracy and efficiency. Blue Microphones is now incorporating customer feedback directly into its back office software to improve its products and the company was awarded the prestigious 2016 Manufacturing Leadership (ML) Award in the “Enterprise Leadership” category from Frost and Sullivan’s ML Council.
