In 2019, they decided that it was time to upgrade to Avion's cloud-based E2 SHOP. There were a few different factors that went into that decision, including concerns about server stability and security.
Once they made the decision, the implementation was quick and easy. As Mark Bathurst, Vice President of Operations, said, “It actually went very, very smoothly. We did it over the weekend here. I was surprised at how seamless it was.” </p><p>The implementation started on a Friday and by Monday everything was ready for training on the new software. All data was preserved through the transition. Mark remembered after their implementation, “Once that was done, our custom database came in with no problem at all. All the history was there. We didn’t lose anything.” Keeping all of their data was crucial to be able to keep their shop running smoothly after implementation.
They found that training everyone on the software was fairly easy as well. </p><p>Now that they’re using their software daily, Avion Technologies loves it. They’ve found that it’s very easy to use and learn, but they’re also getting important things, like reports, done much more quickly. As Mark shared, “I can get my reports a lot faster now, out of the system.” Getting those reports quickly, with current and correct information, means Mark can make decisions quickly and confidently, and move onto the next thing. Mark isn’t alone in loving their new software, either. As he said, “I’m very happy with the program. A lot of people here are as well.” Avion Technologies knows their shop will have great ERP software to support their shop now and in the future. BAT Industrial Products manufactures, imports and distributes industrial, hydraulic hose, valves and fittings for mining, agriculture, irrigation, transport, food processing and other industries. The Blacktown, Australia company serves more than 60 distributors across the nation with some 25,000 line items focused on the safe and efficient transfer and control of air, water, gas, food, fumes, chemical and petro chemical products. </p><p>With such a vast network of distributors and a large catalog of products, keeping track of customers’ buying habits is critical for this medium-sized business.
Recently, BAT recognized that it was losing a percentage of its customer base, particularly across specific categories. The company was using a business intelligence tool for reporting, but it was not user friendly and the process of producing report to find out when and where customers were dropping off was a long and arduous task. </p><p>“Customers typically don’t tell you when they start to purchase from another supplier,” said Scott Hudson, Managing Director at BAT Industrial Products. “You need to be able to find out for yourself, to ask the right questions and find what areas need improving. If you don’t know that, then it may be too late. If you’re not on the ball, customers will spread out their purchases into the market and cut out categories all together.” </p><p>This was the situation for BAT when they decided to deploy Phocas Business Intelligence.
While the company has only been using Phocas for a short period of time, the impact has been quickly felt, particularly with the sales reps. </p><p>Hudson uses Phocas during BAT’s Friday meetings to understand the company’s status with customers.
BAT also has a large TV screen on the company’s main floor, which displays a Phocas Dashboard with sales for the day compared to last year; top 10 customers compared to prior year; and customers won, lost and dropping off.
Hudson recognizes that there is a lot more than can be done with Phocas, from accounts dashboards and CRM activity to inventory management and purchasing. He also believes that Phocas will help the company generate more business.

and brokers to identify and provide solutions in the single-serve beverage market. From its start in a 400-square-foot facility located in New Orleans, Pod Pack has expanded to operate in 45,000 square feet in Baton

of sheet and coil steel, prefabricated duct and fittings, and a
complete line of HVAC products. As a third-generation family-owned and
now woman-owned business, they have been serving HVAC contractors since
1962.
Today they have revenues of over $100
million and eight locations across the Midwest, serving twelve states,
all while relying on Eclipse technology advancements to support this
growth.</p><p>Successfully selling 300K tons of steel in a 12-month period requires
having a close eye on sales results. American Metals Supply has used
Epicor Data Analytics (EDA) to seamlessly integrate with Eclipse to pull
information into dashboards that they can use to quickly view their
sales activity.</p>
<p>When the COVID-19 crisis hit in early 2020, they were able to quickly
adapt by using EDA to modify their dashboards and monitor new metrics
to drive even more efficiency. Using analytics to closely monitor A/R
data, including metrics such as days to pay, week over week receivables,
and existing credit limits, they improved cash flow by reducing ADP by
over three days.</p>
<p>Using the right information in an easy-to-access format, gave the
company the ability to avoid reducing headcount, unlike so many of their
peers in this challenging market environment.</p><p>American Metals Supply does not have a showroom. Approximately 90% of
their business is done via delivery. In addition to EDA, American
Metals Supply has used other third-party solutions that have been
integrated into Eclipse.</p><p>
Having an eCommerce presence, powered by Eclipse partner Second
Phase, allowed them to serve customers quickly without customers
dropping by their facility. Utilizing iPads with an app from a solution
partner, Innovo, each driver has their own device, removing the need for
paperwork and customer contact, while increasing efficiency and

AMCO regularly runs production jobs lasting multiple days. Therefore, the teams realized significant value in creating a flexible production scheduler. Within this tool, AMCO can create full production jobs and move them around a “test calendar” to determine the most efficient process and without ever impacting the live schedule. Once the user is secure in their decision, the production job can be moved to the main schedule to be applied immediately.<br />

Since being live on DEACOM, AMCO has already seen significant value with improved visibility into business performance. Previously, the company relied on spreadsheets and handwritten notes of production runs, downtime, uptime, and yields. This information was then manually entered into spreadsheets to create graphs and PowerPoint presentations – a time-consuming and unsustainable method.<br />

We can instantly see what is being produced in shifts A, B, and C, and drill down into those details to identify inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement. According to T.J. Hunt, president of Danbury Plumbing Supply, his vision
for Danbury Plumbing was the creation of a single software solution

Knit-Set works with a number of designers to create sweaters inspired by looks seen on international fashion runways. The sweaters are manufactured in Korea and then shipped to Montréal for distribution to a variety of retail locations across Canada. <br />

Sweater styles change year to year, so Knit-Set needed an integrated IT system to provide management with real-time, accurate information about product SKU’s. As well, the company wanted to improve employee productivity within a secure environment, to prepare for anticipated growth.
The company was running a number of disconnected software programs and paper-based processes to manage inventory, sales orders, purchasing, tracking of shipments, accounting information and financial statements. Although he consults with outside accountants, Dave is the one responsible for tax compliance. He needs to accurately charge the right sales tax no matter where a sale occurs, manage exemption certificates, file returns across the country on various filing schedules, and stay on top of the company's growing nexus obligations.<br />

When Dave joined R&B Wagner, he was able to turn returns filing over to Avalara Returns. Avalara Returns automatically files R&B Wagner's returns in every tax jurisdiction where it owes sales tax. R&B Wagner makes one payment to a secured account to cover the total amount of taxes owed, and Avalara takes care of making individual payments.<br />
<br />
Dave also worked with their Avalara account manager to set up CertCapture on online sales forms so customers could load their own exemption certificates. "In the past we would have to call the customer, have them send the form to us and then we put it in CertCapture. Giving customers the ability to load it themselves has been wonderful," Dave said. "The new process is up to 40 percent more efficient than the old one."<br />
<br />
Most importantly, R&B Wagner also uses Avalara's nexus monitoring service to help reduce risk by monitoring the company's nexus obligations. When a sale occurs in a jurisdiction that is not registered to collect and file sales tax, the transaction is flagged and Avalara alerts Dave. If registration in the new jurisdiction is required, Dave has the option to set it up himself or let Avalara take care of it. He called nexus risk mitigation "one of the top benefits" of partnering with Avalara.<br />
<br />
If Dave didn't have Avalara's help, he would have to hire one or two more people to take on sales tax. Currently, he has a staff of three working in other areas, and he calls Avalara his "fourth employee." "Avalara is doing all the sales tax work essentially for me. All I have to do is collect the data and make sure it's been properly given to my fourth employee to handle and take care of."<br />

The company initially began as a jewelry distributor, connecting local artisans in Nairobi to global retailers.
With that in mind, Floyd and her SOKO co-founders decided to create a mobile marketplace that provided the infrastructure local artisans need, effectively becoming a demand-responsive virtual factory that increases artisan income by five times. It also allows SOKO to fulfill orders in mass quantities for large retailers like Anthropologie and Nordstrom.<br />
<br />
SOKO then began expanding its supply chain technology to other brands, effectively becoming a Manufacturing as a Service (MaaS) company.
Before it launched NetSuite, Mirelle’s team was using QuickBooks accounting software that didn’t connect easily with the supply chain, a wholesale platform to book orders, a CRM system to manage hundreds of accounts, while a simple spreadsheet was being used to keep track of tradeshow costs.
“We had to do a lot of manual data cleanup and reformatting across our systems,” Guy said. “And that’s not even counting double-checking for errors.”<br />
<br />
Guy and her team wanted to be able to do more with their operations data, like building out projections, accessing customer history and finding ways to align expenses with performance reporting.
Customization was a top consideration given the unique business model. Accessibility was a high priority as well, with the team distributed in Nairobi, San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. <br />
<br />
As a result of selecting and implementing NetSuite, the SOKO team is now able to perform sales forecasting with real-time visibility, improving cash flow projections. Past sales forecasts help make the sales team more accurate in future forecasting. They’re able to look at conversion rates from leads to customers, segment wholesale customers by category and territory, and slice and dice reporting on a number of attributes like sales channels, SKUs and territories.
Expense reporting for trade shows, customer payment schedules and credit terms are all in one place.<br />
<br />
“Information is easily available much more quickly,” Guy said. The increase in time savings related to NetSuite has allowed the SOKO team to better allocate headcount and be a bit more aggressive. “We’re more lean because we’re not allocating resources towards operational maintenance,” she added.
Going forward, Guy and her team are confident that NetSuite can meet their operational needs no matter what direction the business goes.<br />

(ASF) is a distributor and retailer of professional fitness equipment based in Ithaca, NY, with a second retail location in Greenville, SC, and 35 distribution centers scattered across 16 states. ASF also offers installation, facility planning and design, and maintenance services for all of their equipment. Founded as a "one man shop"in 1987 by John Murray, the current President and Co-owner, Advantage Sport & Fitness now employees 97 people across all of their locations. <br />

In a world where projects can run from a few thousand dollars to over a million dollars, ASF’s sales and operations teams must keep track of all of the associated moving parts for the whole length of the contract. Obviously, the longer sales lifecycles require an automated solution to streamline their monitoring processes.
John began searching for a new system for Advantage Sport & Fitness that would allow his team to gain deeper insight into their activities, especially inventory management.<br />

He also added a few more requirements to the list on the functionality side, including featuring a web-based browser and SQL-based programming. While hosting their software remotely was not the biggest concern, John desired a seamless environment that would alleviate their manual IT concerns and automate the upgrade process. “I didn’t want to run around installing applications on everyone’s computer,” says John.<br />

John and ASF began looking at several web-based software systems simultaneously and came across Acumatica. He connected with SWK Technologies to learn more. “Acumatica seemed to be the best fit for us,” says John. "I liked that it was built on the .NET framework -we’re very familiar with that here. It’s something that we can manipulate...and you can run it on a laptop, desktop, notebook, smart watch, or your phone.”<br />

Once Acumatica went live, ASF found that it streamlined their inventory processes and automated their manual checks. “We are now managing multiple warehouses with complete confidence,” says John, “whereas before we were guessing and, in some cases, had to physically visit the warehouse. The system reflects the reality in multiple states. That was the #1 problem and it’s done a very good job.”<br />
