Rowleys Wholesale Gains Efficiencies With Tour de Force

Rowleys Wholesale is a distributor of automotive and industrial lubricants, tires, equipment, and a variety of other products related to the automotive industry. Rowleys selected Tour de Force to provide customer relationship management (CRM), sales force automation (SFA), and business intelligence (BI).

The Rowleys Wholesale team responsible for selecting a CRM system unanimously agreed that Tour de Force was the best solution for them. The primary reasons that Rowleys Wholesale selected Tour de Force were the extensive integration to their Infor SX.enterprise ERP system, extensive integration with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Exchange Server, the full range of features offered through the mobile solution, and Tour de Force’s extensive background and experience in the distribution industry.

“After reviewing a wide range of CRM solutions, it was clear to everyone involved that Tour de Force was the best fit for Rowleys Wholesale,” remarked Mike Rowley, co-owner and CIO. “Once we saw a demo, we were amazed at the extensive out of the box integration they provided to Infor SX.enterprise, without the need for expensive customizations or add-on middleware."

Other features of the system, such as the flexible permission structure, easy to navigate Manager’s Console, powerful Gap Analysis, and use of user defined fields contributed to Rowleys decision.

Wausau Supply cuts costs 30% with Infor Distribution SX.e

Wausau Supply is a privately owned company in Wausau, Wisconsin, distributing building materials from 11 distribution centers and 6 light manufacturing plants in 5 states in the Midwest. Wausau Supply also provides value-added services that include a complete line of custom-finished interior and exterior doors, engineered wood products, and custom-finished cement siding. The company’s major customers have been small, private lumber yards, as well as a growing number of customers that constitute large buying groups.

The primary business challenge that Wausau Supply faced was its ability to provide next-day delivery to not only small lumber yards, which had been its major customer over many years, but also a greater number of conglomerates that were purchasing together. Because the company began to see more competition from “big box” distribution centers, it required a refocusing of strategy to maintain profitability.

Wausau Supply decided to change its mission and become a value-added-products distributor providing customized building products and features. Following that decision, the need arose to revise its software. The company was using a product that allocated inventory well but it did not have an up-to-date operating system for back office or logistics operations. With 11 distribution centers, Wausau Supply needed broad-based visibility into its inventory in every location.

After implementing Infor Distribution SX.e, Wausau Supply began seeing immediate process improvements. With an increased manufacturing presence, Wausau Supply has become stronger and its market share continues to expand. Infor Distribution SX.e has helped to increase productivity and reduce costs—both by 30%—while offering customers exactly what they want when they want it.

Foundation Distributing Inc. Increases Flexibility, Fulfillment With Blue Link

Foundation Distributing Inc. is a wholesaler of Christian books, gifts and curriculum products in Canada and the U.S. and was faced with the challenge of implementing an accounting and inventory management software system to manage their business. Their key requirements were focused on inventory management and order fulfillment. A sophisticated and flexible inventory system was required to manage advance orders and the multitude of backorders and partial shipments that would result.

FDI needed enterprise inventory management software that could provide unrestricted real-time access to analyse and mine their data. There was a need to provide customers with various analyses of their purchases. In addition, they needed access to detailed inventory movement and history to maintain high fill rates without excess inventory. Bust most importantly, FDI needed an inventory management system that would meet their needs without blowing their budget.

FDI selected Blue Link Solutions as their inventory management software. The addition of order types gave users the ability to flag orders as ship completeor advance orders with a ship date in the future. A routine was developed to automatically fill backorders on a FIFO basis, after taking into consideration the special order types. A new screen was developed to consolidate multiple orders by customer and print a consolidated picking slip for the warehouse. This consolidation cut the picking time for multiple orders by over 70%.

FDI’s Pat Chown says, “Choosing Blue Link Solutions as our core inventory software was definitely the right decision! Blue Link has delivered a solution that allows us to manage our business very efficiently. The modifications to the software were implemented with great precision and have changed the way we do business today. We are able to upgrade to current versions of the software when we want, while retaining our custom modifications."
