The company’s decision to replace its legacy system with a new Infor Cloud technology suite will help propel it strongly into the future.

The value, capabilities, and benefits of the new software go far beyond easy access to centralized data and higher rates of customer serviceability. Radians will be able to better manage performance, risk, and the impact of business decisions across multiple departments, including supply chain logistics, sales and marketing, product data, finance, networking, and warehouse and cartonization functions.

In addition to CloudSuite Distribution Enterprise, Radians also selected Infor CloudSuite WMS, a Leader in the 2020 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Warehouse Management Systems. The streamlined, holistic supply chain suite will help Radians ensure on-time deliveries and efficient warehouse utilization, while improving purchasing goals and reducing inventory costs.

Radians is also implementing Infor Dynamic Enterprise Performance Management (d/EPM). Combining modern intelligent business tools and financial performance management capabilities into one solution, d/EPM will enable Radians to consistently report with confidence, measure past and current performance, and forecast future activities.

Miller Industries Improves Data Access With Infor

Miller Industries is the world’s largest manufacturer of towing and recovery equipment. Based in Ooltewah, Tennessee, with three manufacturing facilities in the United States, one in England, and one in France, the company provides a complete line of towing and recovery equipment. In addition to car carriers and light-duty towing, the line of equipment also includes vehicles that can carry up to 40,000 pounds and heavy duty recovery units with boom capacities of 100 tons.

Miller Industries was recently named a 2019 recipient of Infor's Customer Excellence Award in the Technology and Business Intelligence/Analytics category. The awards are given each year to customers that drive innovation and exceptional results with Infor solutions. Miller Industries earned the award for its rapid, effective deployment of Infor OS and Infor Birst, reducing the number of outstanding invoices by 40% and shortening budget planning time by 80%.

It was “an absolute culture shift.” When Miller Industries Inc. implemented Birst last September, co-CEO Will Miller said, “It was the first time I didn’t have to go to the Accounting Department to receive information; I had it there at my fingertips. It was accurate, live information every day. It really did help us transform the business.”

Impressive results
The ability to dissect the information reduced the time required to budget revenue by 80% over previous years when Birst was not available, Miller Industries reports. Birst has also reduced various executive-level and senior accounting staff inquiries by approximately 80%.  Past-due accounts receivable balances have been reduced by approximately 40%, due to increased visibility of amounts by customer and reduction of time required to make this information available to management. Said Miller,  “Real-time information is now available to Birst users, and more time is available for value-added projects, allowing us to move forward with other upgrades and implementations with no administrative headcount additions.”

Future Supply Chains Increases Efficiency With Infor

Established in April 2007, Future Supply Chains Solutions Ltd is India's first fully integrated end-to-end supply chain services company. Future Supply Chains had warehouses spread across the country with very little infrastructure. As this range of warehouses operated on a labor-intensive and manpower dependent model, Future Supply Chains found it extremely difficult to keep track of inventory while also managing additional storage. With an ever-increasing number of SKUs and volumes, the company needed a state-of-the-art Warehouse Management System (WMS).

The volume of retail business handled by Future had increased threefold when compared to the volumes handled a few years back, and as result of this growth, they were facing the challenge of handling a large number of SKUs, spread across many different product categories including fashion, home, food, and furniture and consumer durables.

The company created a team to do the ground work in terms of business logic and strategy and at the same time it started analyzing the best of breed WMS products available in the market that catered to its needs. "We liked Infor as it had better architectural concepts that made it more scalable and reliable," says Samson Samuel, COO and CIO, Future Supply Chains. "However, we selected it not only due to the features and functionalities of the product, but also because Infor had an ecosystem of existing partners and a strong presence across India in terms of manpower, offices, and clients. Infor was associated with us right from the start of our quest for a WMS. All this, coupled with Infor's willingness to provide support, clinched the deal for them. In fact, we rated Infor 5 out of 5 on our requirements."

Seeing results
The benefits of the Infor WMS implementation are now visible across the organization. “A pull system based on actual demand has now replaced a push system that ran on forecasted demand. Shelf management has improved tremendously. In fact, the overall way in which the business and operations now work has improved drastically,” describes Singh.

The Infor WMS has also helped the company rationalize its warehouse structure design decisions. The company is now able to handle a very large number of SKUs and ensure 100% stock accuracy as the stock is totally visible online. It is also possible to do stock corrections in real time since all entries are online. Through Infor WMS, Future Supply Chains can now track and measure what each person is doing or contributing. The Infor WMS solution ensures the company has access to accurate stock measurements, visibility of stocks across the DCs, and tail stock clearance. The shrinkages have gone down. Stock replacement and refill rates have reached an efficiency level of more than 90%.

For Future Supply Chains, it is difficult to visualize operating its warehouse business without Infor’s WMS systems. Due to extensive tracking and measurement capabilities, the company is aware at all times as to what is happening with each SKU in the warehouse. “The Infor WMS is a perfectly running system today. The implementations are now working at 99% efficiency. Some DCs are even working at 100%. It has helped establish a system-based, technology-based, and process-based model of business. It ensures minimum or no shrinkage, high accuracy, very low time and optimum cost to market, security, and on-time distribution to the customer.” concludes Singh.

SunnyD Eliminates Data Silos With Infor Birst

Sunny Delight Beverages Co. is a producer of juice-based drinks in North America, with four brands including its flagship, SunnyD. When the company was spun off from Proctor & Gamble, eight different legacy business intelligence applications were in place, each with independent silos of data. As a result, SunnyD executives would receive conflicting figures because end users were working off unique silos of data. This disparity led to revenue unpredictability, lower margins than necessary, high inventory buffers, and a lack of understanding of true profitability derived from sales promotions. SunnyD embraced the opportunity to modernize and take a strategic approach to business intelligence.

CIO Shawn Roberts, working closely with the CFO, evaluated 17 different vendors before committing to Infor's Birst. Birst integrates data from multiple sources with transparent data governance, while at the same time providing self-service analytic capabilities to both technical and non-technical users.

Business results and efficiencies as a result of the implementation included:
  • 7% Transportation savings
  • 90% Reduction in plant overtime costs
  • 2% Sales increase
  • $195,000 Annual contract staff savings

In addition, the business transformed its analytics with Networked Business Intelligence. Networked BI virtualizes the entire analytics and data ecosystem, enabling the transformation of an organization’s approach to analytics. Built on top of Birst’s modern, multi-tenant cloud architecture, Birst creates a set of interwoven analytics and BI instances that share a common data-as-a-service fabric.

Birst’s technical value to SunnyD has been in integrating data and providing governance around previously siloed data sources, while also providing self-service analytics capabilities to both technical and non-technical users.

Dunlop Tyres Reaches New Heights With Infor

Dunlop Aircraft Tyres manufactures world-class aircraft tires — and it has done so for more than 100 years. Today, the company holds the unique status of being the world’s only specialist manufacturer and retreader of aircraft tires.

In a recent interview with Stuart Hawker — Dunlop’s Head of Marketing and Business Intelligence — made it clear that the company is equally committed to providing quality customer service of the highest standard as well. Stuart shared how Dunlop is avoiding common pitfalls through its investment in Infor CRM.

He started by outlining some of the challenges the company faces:
  • a globally dispersed sales team.
  • the company is growing, and
  • because of the global nature of its business, the company had dispersed data sources that made it difficult to create a single, accurate picture of the customer.

The company looked to Infor to help them deploy a CRM platform that would provide better control of their data and create a single version of the truth that would enforce a more consistent approach in sales and account management.

Stuart singled out the Infor CRM Xbar in particular for the way it allows sales personnel to perform key CRM tasks without leaving Outlook. Easier access simplifies the entry of clean, consistent customer data that is the foundation for richer and more relevant customer engagement. Other features such as intuitive, user-friendly screens and streamlined workflow also help improve utilization by sales teams that would otherwise continue to rely on paper-based or Excel-driven practices for recording and tracking customer interactions.

Dunlop’s experience with Infor CRM is compelling evidence that it’s possible for a global enterprise to create the consistent and extendable sales processes and develop a single, accurate, and up-to-date picture of customers and their evolving needs – despite the challenges of a globally dispersed workforce and client base.
