Millcraft Finds Success With Hitachi Solutions Ecommerce

The Millcraft Paper Company is an independently-owned business serving the professional paper, packaging and graphic art industries. Millcraft currently has sales and distribution centers in 14 cities, covering seven states and Canada and processes more than 8,000 stocked items in more than 500,000 square feet of warehouse space, resulting in $15 million in inventory annually.

Millcraft’s previous ecommerce software simply could not keep up with the changing needs of the growing business, and the interests of the customer base. As a result, Millcraft sought an ecommerce platform powerful enough to process thousands of items, while providing scalability for changing business processes and flexibility to meet continuously evolving customer needs.

With Ecommerce for Microsoft Dynamics, Millcraft was able to create a polished, user-friendly ecommerce platform for its customers. By incorporating customer feedback into the design of MyMillcraft, the web store front became a top choice for placing paper orders online.

With Hitachi Solutions, Millcraft is able to achieve:

•Quick Order Entry
•Custom Search Functionality
•Integration with Microsoft Dynamics AX

In addition to providing a rich customer portal and web ordering platform, Ecommerce for Microsoft Dynamic’s integration with Microsoft Dynamics AX ensures that everything is running smoothly on the back end as well. Inventory information is updated real time via an automated flow of information between Microsoft Dynamics AX and Ecommerce for Microsoft Dynamics. This ensures that accurate pricing and availability is displayed on MyMillcraft, and orders are fulfilled more quickly.

BRAX Manufacturing Grows with I.B.I.S.

BRAX Ltd. has been an industry leader in collectible ceramic beer steins for over a decade, and the business also specializes in custom manufacturing of licensed and promotional products. Their core products include a range of injection molded drink-ware, stationary and home decor using a range of innovation decorating techniques that include lenticular 3-D, foil and other ‘in mold’ labels.

BRAX believes in making a fair profit and while doing so are committed to giving a percentage of every dollar made to a range of non-profit organizations. These include Make a Wish Foundation, the Boomer Esiason Foundation, the Miracle League and all youth sport organizations across America.

Combining quality products with consumer-popular corporate philanthropy resulted in BRAX growing at a very rapid rate - and their former enterprise solution simply could not handle the new business being generated, much less allow for continued growth.

In evaluating various solutions, BRAX selected I.B.I.S., Inc. for the implementation and support of Microsoft Dynamics® CRM and GP because of I.B.I.S.’s Microsoft Dynamics expertise. By implementing a very unique system built on Microsoft Dynamics CRM, GP and ISV solutions, and designed for their specific needs, they can now support their growing business.

Since the implementation, BRAX has realized tremendous value in their Dynamics solution. They are now able to directly import orders instead of entering them manually. Additionally, invoicing is processed instantaneously. As a result of these improvements, BRAX has increased their school merchandise market share by 300% and is poised to handle continued growth in the future.

To read more about BRAX and other case studies, visit the I.B.I.S. Client Success Stories news blog.

Microsoft Dynamics AX Helps Hunter Douglas Support Its Global Enterprise

Ever since it invented the aluminum window blind in 1946, Hunter Douglas has defined the industry with products that deliver revolutionary style and functionality. Its legacy includes the creation of entirely new categories of award-winning window coverings, such as the first honeycomb shade and a remote-control system for controlling one or more shades at once. Its expertise in customization helps keep its customers at the forefront of design in the home and office.

After considering several ERP solutions, Hunter Douglas Latin America adopted Microsoft Dynamics AX. Currently, 400 people in Chile and Mexico use the manufacturing management software, and implementation is underway in Argentina. These will be followed by sites in Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, and Panama. By early 2016, the single Microsoft AX implementation will have replaced eight separate ERP systems, and virtually everyone at Hunter Douglas Latin America—1,300 people—will use Microsoft Dynamics AX for manufacturing, fulfillment, and tasks related to customer service, accounting, production, sales, operations, logistics, and inventory.

Read more of the case study on the Microsoft Dynamics website.

Microsoft Dynamics Business Analyzer Windows 8 app released

The latest app from Microsoft is called the Microsoft Dynamics Business Analyzer and it's designed to show stats and information for businesses that use Microsoft Dynamics ERP-based software.

Specifically, the app can connect to a server running SQL Reporting Services and display reports that have been created by Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2, Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 and Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011 FP1.

Businesses with employees that have a enterprise-oriented Windows 8 tablet could use Microsoft Dynamics Business Analyzer to check to see if, for example, their budget is in line with their product sales. The app also allows users to open the Lync version of Windows 8 in order to start up a chat with someone else about a report that's displayed on the Dynamics Business Analyzer. The launch of this new app shows that Microsoft is expanding its Windows 8 software products beyond just consumer oriented apps and it's likely we will see even more apps like this in the future.

Take a look at the app on the Neowin blog.
